My roommate/sound engineer, Max and I have been gearing up for recording a Northernness full-length starting sometime in March. Not going to speculate on a release date at this point…

It’s been a while. We’ve been practicing with a new lineup, working on new material, and we have our first show in Gainesville since we re-formed coming up on November 13 at 1982.

Reminder: The Northernness Farewell Gainesville show /CD release party is Friday, February 23rd at 1982.

Been a while. I have some big news. As of March 2007, the current incarnation of The Northernness will be no more. I (Ben) will be moving to Washington DC to pursue my graphic design career as well as continue to pursue a music career. I’ve had a really amazing time in Gainesville and got to play with some really great people and I will truly miss this band. I have decided to continue to maintain the Northernness website and play in DC under the Northernness moniker.

As far as the CD, look for a cd release party/farewell show in Gainesville in late February. Also look for a website overhaul coming soon.

Recorded some drum and bass tracks last weekend for the ep with Danny and Joel. Really happy with how they turned out. So much for late July, but that’s ok. Look for the new ep out sometime in the fall (hopefully).

We’ve started working on a 7-song ep, trying to incorporate more of the band members into the new recordings. Hopefully it should be finished sometime in late July.
