I was wide awake and dreaming
In an oceanside hotel
Seagulls scattered past my field of vision
And down into a bed of stars I fell

I moved up here to find myself
Migrate to a place where I’m unknown
Like the gulls the wind’s behind me
And in my bag is everything I own

Sometimes I feel like I’m just rambling
Of constellations, soap boxes and shells
The sands keep streaming down and I keep scrambling
To find another story I can tell

And sometimes the city haunts me
I see owls at night behind my eyes
Blinking lights and sirens they all taunt me
I’m troubled by the beautiful bright lies

So I hope one day you’ll find me
In a golden hall beside a stream
All my family gathered round the table
Glasses overflowing in a dream
